Who we are
My name is Eric Harper and I am the founder of Resurrection Life. I have always had a call to missions on my heart. In fact, I told my mom when I was 15 that I wanted to be a missionary, 6 years before I became a Christian.
After years of bottling up pain, shame, and hopelessness, I fell into a lifestyle of heavy drinking and drug use. This buried the pain, but only temporarily. Then on November 19th, 2009 I had an experience with God that would change the course of my life forever.
I got sober, and within a year I moved to Colorado Springs to attend Charis Bible College. After I graduated in 2013, I had an opportunity to intern on the mission field in Berlin, Germany during the summer of 2014. It was during this time that God called me to Europe.
Upon returning from that internship, I moved to Austin, TX to continue ministry training in preparation for what I knew God calling me to. After living and training at One Chapel in Austin, TX for 4 years, I moved to Berlin in November 2019.
Since then, I have been working with Stiftung Hope at Cafe Sehnsucht in the heart of the drug trade. Our ministry focus has been with addicts, alcoholics, and the homeless in Kreuzberg, Berlin. We also co-led an outreach to West African drug dealers in Görlitzer park for over 2 years, building relationships that remain today.
The presence of God has been so evident throughout our ministry here, orchestrating connections and opportunities beyond what we could have ever imagined. And we're just getting started.

Why we exist
Luke 7:35-50 tells us a story of a sinful woman. Jesus is having dinner at the home of a Pharisee when this woman finds out. She shows up with an alabaster jar of ointment and starts wetting Jesus feet with her tears and wiping them off with her hair. When the Pharisee saw this he said “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.”
You can hear the disdain for this woman in the words of this pharisee. He seems to know who this woman is and has decided that she is not worthy of anything. There are people all over our cities and neighborhoods who we have the same attitude about. The homeless, addicts, criminals, people from different places, cultures, and religions.
When Jesus hears the pharisee he asks a question and then says “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. Luke 7:44-47
Resurrection Life exists because of situations like this. Our heart is to reach out to the people that society has deemed unworthy, the people that have no place. The truth is that everyone of us is both the woman and the pharisee. We are all in need of forgiveness, yet everyone of us has sat in judgement of others.
Our mission is to reach the outcasts, the misfits, the addicts, the homeless and anyone else that feels lost and alone in this world. Jesus came that we might have life and have it in abundance and we believe that everyone is included in that. The resurrection power and life of Jesus is able to transform lives and that is our hope. That lives will be transformed and people will be set free.

What we believe
We believe in the radical love of God
We believe that since the foundations of the earth, God had a plan for humanity. We believe that creation was made in order to reveal God to mankind. We believe that people were made out of and for God’s love.
We believe that every single person has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We believe that every person in their sinful state is equally and radically loved and valued by God. We believe that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever shall believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

We believe that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever shall believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
We believe in the resurrection life of Jesus Christ
We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe His death on the cross was the one eternal sacrifice for all sin. We believe that forgiveness is offered to everyone, and that salvation comes by grace through faith.
We believe that the resurrection of Jesus defeated death, giving all who believe on Him for salvation the gift of eternal life. We believe that the resurrection life of Jesus radically transforms people from the inside out. We believe that the resurrection life of Jesus bears fruit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
We believe that the resurrection life of Jesus has broken the power of sin over our lives, has given us freedom from the thoughts and habits that hold us hostage, and allowed us to see our true value and purpose in the eyes of God. We believe because of the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have been forgiven of sin, and the Holy Spirit now lives in us.

We believe in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit resides within every Christian. We believe that the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, teaches us, comforts us in times of need, and ushers us into the presence of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit never leaves us nor forsakes us, and that we can now boldly enter into the throne room of grace and sit in the presence of God.
We believe in the supernatural miracle working power of the Holy Spirit. We believe He gives us gifts and helps us minister to peoples needs with these gifts. We believe that the Holy Spirit can heal the sick, comfort the broken hearted, release the captive, gives eyes to the blind and bring hope to the hopeless.
